As someone new to the SDA Church (about 3 years) I have come to sadly meet many many Legalist within our Church.
It is you Legalist that give us a BAD NAME.It's people like you that make many believe we are a cult.We are part of God's last day Church,not the other way around.
We can know by FAITH we are SAVED.
For those of you that say we won't know till the Judgment if we are saved or not,then you have NO RIGHT to say if E.G.WHITE is going to be in Heaven or not.When she said we should not say we are saved,she meant that it is possiable to walk away from God's grace and Salvation,as at the time a lot of other Churchs where teaching that Once Saved Always Saved.(A lot still do).
By Faith you are Saved through Grace.Read it in your Bible.
And what about those old time SDA who in the old days refused to let people in the Church because they had Tattoo's.Geyt a life.JESUS DIED FOR ALL MANKIND,not just people born into the SDA Church.
I became an SDA as I found the truth of the SEVENTH DAY,and thats why I'm here now.

I believe that there are many legalists in the Church. But there are those who seriously follow that Lord's command, having a faith that works in love and yet some labeled them as legalists.
As a Church we firmly believe that we are saved only through grace by faith, but we also emphasize that "faith without action is dead". Many individuals are too extreme that they believe that faith alone without work is enough while on the other side, work is an assurance of salvation.
I always believe that we are saved through the grace of God by faith that works in love...

What I'm meaning to say is that there are those that do teach that we won't know till the second coming if we are saved or not.Those are the one's that give SDA a bad name.I know this as there are people im my home town church that have told me that you can't be shore of your salvation.It must be a sad life to live like that.I know by Faith that if I die daily to sin and ask Jesus to lead me that He will.
Ive many times been called Legalist when in fact I was just trying to be obedient or follow my convictions,yet people say thats wrong.There is a diference between Legalism and Obedience.God Bless you all.
